About Blackberry Hill Community Centre

Blackberry Hill Community Centre exists to bring people together, strengthen local connections, and provide a welcoming, inclusive space at the heart of the Blackberry Hill community.

The Centre has been established as a shared resource for residents, local groups, and community-led initiatives. It is a place to meet, learn, celebrate, and collaborate—whether that is through organised activities, informal gatherings, support groups, or one-off events.

Our Purpose

At its core, the Community Centre is about enabling participation and belonging. We aim to:

  • Provide accessible, flexible spaces that can be used by individuals, families, and community groups
  • Support social, educational, cultural, and wellbeing activities
  • Encourage volunteering and local involvement
  • Act as a focal point for community communication and collaboration

The Centre is not driven by commercial objectives. Decisions are guided by what benefits the community as a whole, both now and in the long term.

For the Community, by the Community

Blackberry Hill Community Centre has been set up with the intention that it is shaped by the people who use it. We actively encourage residents and local organisations to propose ideas, activities, and events, and to play a role in how the Centre develops over time.

Whether you are looking to attend an activity, hire a space, start a new group, or simply find out what is happening locally, the Centre is here to support you.

A Space for Many Uses

The Centre is designed to be adaptable. Typical uses include:

  • Community meetings and residents’ groups
  • Classes, workshops, and clubs
  • Social events and celebrations
  • Support groups and advice sessions
  • Children’s, youth, and family activities

As the community grows and evolves, so too will the way the Centre is used.

Looking Ahead

Our long-term aim is for Blackberry Hill Community Centre to be a sustainable, well-used, and well-loved local asset. We will continue to listen, adapt, and work collaboratively to ensure the Centre reflects the needs and aspirations of the community it serves.
